PC Games Coming Back to Its Beginning of Awesome Titles.
What do you do when a hobby has become old hat? That is precisely what appears to have taken place to video games recently. If you look at the latest titles, you’ll realize that lots of them are just new versions of older PC games. No, I’m not mentioning Final Fantasy 55 ?, I’m mentioning the RPG retreads. Is there a creative story? It doesn’t appear that there is, and that’s a problem that frustrates longstanding gaming enthusiasts to a very high degree.
What about the discontinuation of older PC games? Did anyone ask the fans if they wanted a stop to the longstanding Super Nintendo titles, or the PS 1 titles? One can see the need for profit, but if you search on the Internet for these older titles you’ll realize that some have skyrocketed in value to over 100 dollars. With such a large demand for these titles, could businesses really lose profit by maintaining them on store displays?
The first DOOM games have done a wonderful job of remaining on store displays, but that can just remain for so long. It’s true that the company produced a box set of both of them, and they remain doing it, but have you noticed that computer gaming has fallen off a cliff in recent history? If you to take a trip to your Gamestop you’ll likely notice that the computer gaming section is getting very undersized. In a few store it’s decreased to a tiny small part of a shelf.
PC gaming probably can’t be rescued thanks to the amount of piracy that is occuring, but what about our old titles? Who would like to maintain the tradition of going up against the multiple styles of Sephiroth with Knights of the Round? What about fighting off waves of creatures with a view point that we can truly make sense of? The smartest way to return it to its roots and keep our classic titles on the shop displays is to let manufacturers realize that’s what we would like.
The smartest thing you can do is stop purchasing titles only because they’re a sequel to some game you used to enjoy. Do you understand the history of the manufacturer? If it’s a manufacturer that has done an awful job on a bunch of titles one after the other, basically destroying your beloved line, then it’s undoubtedly a smart idea to keep your distance from it. Acquiring the game only inspires them to produce more that are similar. Is that what you really crave?
If you would like to purchase older titles you can attempt peeking on the Internet. You’ll find plenty of resources for purchasing older titles such as eBay, Amazon and other huge marketplaces. If you want to purchase from one of these stores however, be sure that you purchase from a well received seller. Also, make sure that the game is in the status that you would like. Don’t forget that these are older titles and there’s a possibility that they will not be sold with a box or manual. If you’re good with this, then don’t worry, if not, attempt to come upon one that’s a bit more intact.
The times where we could advance through blue rooms with a boxy gun may be long done, but we can replay them and remember where console games came from. Their roots have been changed but it is our duty to keep the memory alive, and show our kids when they’re using the latest video games. Keep in mind that when you’re getting up their in years, it’s your responsibility to take game playing back to its roots.
